Nicki Horak - Juninor Landsholdstrainer Sweden:

Nicki

Robbie Philips - Professional Routesetter & Climber  from Scotland

I have been involved in commercial and competition route setting now for 9 years and in this time I have had the opportunity to work with the very best in the industry. To be a good route setter in the industry fundamentally comes down to three mains things
• Being able to work in a team. • Be willing to put hard work into get the job finished to the highest level. • Be an active climber with a wide range of movement skills to transfer onto the wall.
Ohrsten Højby fits these criteria completely and I would go so far as to say he is one of the hardest working setters I have had the pleasure to work beside. During my work with him in Denmark for the Danish Youth Nationals 2014 , he never gave less than 100% and like a good route setter took enormous pride in his work – this is something invaluable because it is a sure sign of someone willing to learn and improve their abilities. Another obvious example of this was how Ohrsten took intrigue in my work during the week and was always looking for opportunities to better himself. My belief is that every setter has their own unique styles and can bring beauty and imagination to any piece of setting, so I let Ohrsten do his work without any restriction from me. The end results where fantastic pieces of art that would work well in any commercial gym and only needed minor tweaks to make the final job for the competition. This is basically a perfect scenario for working with someone and I would relish any opportunity to work beside Ohrsten in the future be it at competition or in a commercial setting environment.
